PlymLiving Out Of Office: Prime Cafè

Prime Cafe premium coffee

A short walk from your home,  up through Plymouth’s high street, past The Barcode and Drakes Circus, take a left and you’ll find yourself on one of the quirkier streets in the city: Ebrington.

Just a few steps onto the street you’ll find one of the best café’s in the city to get a coffee, eat and study. Tucked away, Prime is defined by its clean logo on the windows and warm and inviting interior. The huge bookcase taking up the left wall of the spot is stacked with books, ranging from classic novels to huge hardbacks you wish were on your coffee table.

Prime’s extensive bookcases have plenty to look at and read!

There’s dozens of houseplants scattered around to give you inspiration for your own home and the indie playlist will have you begging for their Spotify password to steal it!

Being a café, coffee is massively important, and luckily, Prime does not disappoint. Their espresso is always freshly ground, ethically sourced and using roasters local to the area. It really is some of the best coffee you can get. The best bit; every one of their coffees can come served over ice, perfect in the summer or if you’re craving an iced vanilla latte at any point. For the quality of coffee you are getting, Prime is immensely affordable, making it a go to spot for study sessions and catch ups.

Prime cafe have some amazing food options

There’s something for everyone with the food options at Prime!

If coffee isn’t your thing though, and you prefer tea, Prime has you covered. Ranging from an extensive offering of dried whole leaf to fresh teas including a personal favourite mint tea. Again, you can completely make your drink your own, with options for ice and combinations of fresh tea flavours on offer.

Prime cafe is tucked away on Ebrington street

You’ll find Ebrington tucked away at the start of the street, look out for the crown!

You can’t talk about Prime without mentioning the incredible food. Prime offer some amazing seasonal options, meaning the menu changes throughout the year (constantly giving you a reason to come back!) But, it’s the homemade staples of the menu serving up breakfast and brunch options all day long that takes the cake (sometimes literally).

We’re talking beans on sourdough toast, smashed avocado and a whole range of toasties, all Instagram friendly too. Being homemade style, it adds to the welcoming feeling Prime has when you take a seat there no matter what you’re doing.

Being open until 6pm every day, and serving locally sourced alcohol, Prime is often a go to spot for an after work drink, and every two weeks, they stay open later, promoting local talent with live music and performances.

Regardless of if you need a break from the day, or need to focus to get this essay written, Prime happens to be focused on being the chilliest hangout spot it can be. Located just a few minutes away from our properties, take your Plymliving friends, hang out, and try the avocado toast, we promise it won’t disappoint.
